The brief

A free trial drink is a fine idea, but on its own it rarely sticks in anyone's memory. Staff is busy, the moment passes, and nothing about it ends up in your CRM. The brand wanted that moment to actually do something.

What we built

We made the trial a game. Every venue gets its own QR code, printed on coasters, menus or posters. Guests scan it, land on a microsite branded for that bar, and play a slot machine that pours real drinks.

How it works

  • One tap spins the reels. The prize is, mostly, a free signature Spritz (with a zero-proof option for anyone who'd rather not).
  • Winners drop their email and get a one-time QR code they show at the bar. Staff doesn't have to do anything special.
  • Once the venue hits its monthly drink quota, the game keeps going but rewards switch to guaranteed digital prizes: recipe e-books, branded merch, and so on.
  • Age-gate and non-alcoholic prize options are baked in, so the whole thing stays compliant.

What the brand controls

  • Add or remove participating venues with one search field.
  • Set how many free drinks each venue gives out per month, and how long the campaign runs.
  • Upload venue logos and tweak branding so the slot machine looks like it belongs in that bar.
  • Generate QR codes and shareable URLs from the dashboard. Print or share, your call.

Scale and measurement

The whole thing is automated. It scales to hundreds of thousands of trials a year and every spin gets tracked, so you actually know what worked and what didn't.

Why a brand wants this

  • 01 It's a fun way to put a product into someone's hand, with a hard cap on how many free drinks you actually give away per venue.
  • 02 You get measurable consumer interaction without making the bartender work harder.
  • 03 Each venue feels like its own little experience because the slot machine wears that bar's branding. Guests screenshot it.
  • 04 One dashboard runs quotas, creative and timing across hundreds of locations. No spreadsheet warfare.
  • 05 Age-gate and zero-proof options keep the fun regulator-friendly.
  • 06 Every table can become a free Instagram story when someone wins. The reach is on the house.
